Information for Buyers: Timing can be Everything
Buying real estate can sometimes involve tricky timing. An example might be you have looked at several homes and then you find a house that is just perfect and you are thinking about making an offer, but are feeling pressured to make a decision just when you decide you want some time to “sleep on it”. Your agent mentions to you that another party was looking at the home before you arrived today and explains that if you really like the house you should not hesitate. What should you do? Trust your agent.
Your agent has probably had similar incidents happen before and if you miss out on the home you wanted you could regret it later.
It is natural to feel some pressure even from the most easy going real estate agent and you may feel some uncertainty about making an offer. However, if you really like the home, chances are someone else that has seen it will share your enthusiasm for the home too.
Maybe you can afford to “sleep on it” but moving on as quickly as possible will reduce the chance that the house will go to another buyer.
